Reverend J ("Pastor Joe") Paul Conner

Senior Pastor
Pastor Conner became a Naval Officer after graduating from The Citadel in South Carolina in 1979 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology. He has been in the Lutheran Ministry since 1987 after earning a Master of Divinity degree from Trinity Lutheran Seminary in Columbus, OH. Pastor has served in four Lutheran churches: Associate Pastor for Christian Education & Youth, and then Senior Pastor at St. Mark Evangelical Lutheran Church in Wheeling, WV (1987-94); Senior Pastor at Zion Lutheran Church in Staten Island, NY where he steered the congregation through the 9/11 trauma following the terrorist attacks (1994-2003);  Senior Pastor at Hope Lutheran church in St. Petersburg, FL (2004-10);
 and Senior Pastor at Lamb of God (2010-present).

Isoris ("Izzy") Bango-Sanchez

Deacon and Mission Developer
Izzy serves as ordained deacon and Vicar (2019-present) at Lamb of God. He also serves concurrently as Mission Developer, Iglesia Hispana Luterana Cordero de Dios, a Spanish-speaking congregation (2017-present) also located at Lamb of God. He is bi-lingual in Spanish and English. Izzy began his seminary education in October 2017 and is scheduled to complete his training for ordination as a Lutheran minister in 2020. Izzy was born in Cuba. He obtained a Doctorate in Medicine degree in the Dominican Republic (1984) Then he obtained a degree in nursing and served as a registered nurse in Florida (1994). Izzy serves a volunteer in several community organizations.

Evelyn Brewer

Office Administrator
Evelyn joined Lamb of God in 2018 where she serves as Office Administrator. She is bi-lingual in English and Spanish. Evelyn is responsible for day to day administrative operations at Lamb of God. She serves as editor for The Bellwether, the church’s monthly newsletter. Evelyn is responsible for visual presentations on screen behind the altar at Sunday services, as well as for handouts at those services. For many, she is the face of the church and is available to carry out a wide variety of tasks as needed. Evelyn comes with a strong administrative background. Prior to joining us she served for over 15 years at another religious institution.

Alex Sanchez

Director of Music and Organist
Alex is Director of Music and Organist at Lamb of God (2018-). He is bi-lingual in English and Spanish. He is a U.S. Navy veteran (1985-95) who served as a Hospital Corpsman on an aircraft carrier and in several U.S. Naval hospitals; he provided music for church services on and off base and directed chapel choirs. Alex has completed mission trips to China and Taiwan. He earned a Bachelor of Music degree in Sacred Music with an emphasis in organ and voice from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga (2000-04 and 2010). He attended two other post-secondary institutions where he took classes in leadership; theology; and music, including hymnology and hymnody. He teaches music at all grade levels at local private and public-school (2010 to present).

Liz Heidegger

Handbell Choir Director
Liz is Director of Lamb of God’s handbell choir (2014-present). She initiated and directed the children’s and youth choirs at Lamb of God. She obtained a Bachelor of Music Education degree from Capital University, in Columbus, OH (1964) and completed various graduate level courses in Orff, Kodaly and Choral conducting. Liz taught music for 29 years in public schools in Ohio, Indiana, Illinois and Florida. She served in various music capacities including adult and youth music director and organist at these churches: St. Peter's Lutheran, Stendal, IN; St. John Lutheran, Ft. Wayne, IN; Zion Lutheran, Elgin, IL; and Bethel Lutheran, Bartinville, IL. She sang in the adult choir and was the substitute organist at the Good Samaritan Village in Kissimmee, FL. She also works part-time at Disney World.
